There are many ways to check for motor bearing slippage.
If the motor bearing sounds normal but remains hot, this could indicate a bearing slippage problem. Check the motor's end caps and the fit of the outer race to the end caps. If any problems are detected, replace them immediately.
Alternatively, place the end of a long insulated screwdriver against the motor's small bearing cap and hold it to your ear. If the bearing sounds normal but there's an intermittent "squeaking" sound, this could also indicate a bearing slippage problem.
